Judy Vilakazi
Head of Telkom Foundation
Judy is a seasoned professional with a passion for community development, deep experience in the creation and execution of social and labour plans and a good track record in stakeholder engagement. She has dedicated her professional life to promoting youth development and is also passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion - particularly focusing on people living with disabilities. Judy has filled key project-implementation roles across the Southern African region, particularly during her time at Barloworld Equipment, where she collaborated with several influential social-change agents in Africa to deliver impactful initiatives.
Her career began in the mining sector, when she was employed by De Beers Consolidated Mines to document mine closure. In her most recent role, she implemented B-BBEE strategy and CSR planning while serving as the Regional Corporate Responsibility Manager for Epiroc South Africa. Her achievements at Epiroc included being appointed to lead a global team to create a group community-engagement framework that would have a big impact in the organisation.
Judy is a firm believer in lifelong education and holds an MBA from Wits Business School. She completed another Executive Female Leadership Development Programme from UCT GBS in 2025. In November 2024 she completed the Swedish Institute Global Executive Programme. In her current role, she oversees the B-BBEE compliance for Telkom Group, she also operates as a trustee and is the head of the Telkom Foundation.
