The final of the Telkom DGL Masters series, kicking off shortly, held at rAge Expo in Cape Town, will be between Aperture Gaming and Bravado Gaming.
This comes after an intense semi-final battle in which Bravado Gaming beat Carbon eSports 16-11 and 19-17 in overtime.
Shortly after the match team manager Daniel “Spoof” van Wyk expressed his happiness with his team’s performance despite the loss. “I am very happy with the result. Because we are a relatively new team we didn’t expect to do this well so I see getting into the semis as a major achievement for the team. We did give away a few points which we shouldn’t have but we did give Bravado a good run for their money.”
In the second semi-final played this morning Aperture Gaming secured their spot in the final by beating Damage Control 16-14 and 16-13. “Right now the feelings in the team are a bit brutal. We really spent a lot of time preparing for this tournament so we are a bit upset at the loss. We expected to be in the top three but we hoped we would make all the way to the final. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case today,” says Alastair “Lag beast” Bearman, team manager for Damage Control.
The tournament will be decided shortly when Bravado Gaming take on Aperture Gaming for the R40 000 prize money.
