Telkom’s network transformation is back on track. This follows today’s decision when the North Gauteng High Court granted Telkom leave to appeal to the Supreme Court of Appeal against an interdict which was brought by ZTE Mzansi in March 2012.
The granting of the original interdict effectively stalled the deployment of the MSAN (Multi Service Access Node) project which is designed to take fibre closer to the home.
Bashier Sallie, Managing Director of Wholesale & Networks said, "We are pleased that we can now continue the implementation of our access network revamp.
This means that we will no longer face undue delays in the rollout of the project. Telkom is ready to proceed with its deployment of the MSAN technology which will allow the Company to bring the fibre network closer than it has ever been to homes and business premises.
The MSANs will enable quality high speed broadband access using VDSL, VDSL2+ and xPON which will enhance the broadband experience for our customers," he concluded.
