Measured by mobile network deployed, Telkom is South Africa’s largest fixed broadband operator and converged communications provider. Our retail operations offer competitive device and internet service provider (ISP) products and services to a wide variety of consumers in all nine provinces.

Customer and Market segmentation
This business unit operates in the following segments: Consumer Mobile, Fixed-line Residential and Enterprise Mobile. These are serviced by our owned content and ISP as well as fixed services providers on a reseller basis.

Products and Services
Services include broadband (mobile, fixed and nomadic) supported by Voice, Content and Gaming products.

BCX is a leading, state-of-the-art technology company that provides an integrated ICT portfolio of solutions across South Africa.

Customer and Market segmentation
We serve corporate, public sector and large business customers in five major industry sectors: retail, mining, banking and financial services, healthcare and the public sector.

Products and Services
Our diversified portfolio of services include voice, SD-WAN suite, ethernet and Over-The-Top (OTT) offerings.

Differentiators
As the market leader in connectivity, end-devices, applications and other IT services, we pride ourselves in the delivery of end-to-end solutions. The largest data-centre footprint on the continent, combined with our industry-specific experience and strategic vendor relationships, have led us to develop customised applications to benefit a variety of industry sectors.

Gyro is responsible for managing and optimising the value of Telkom’s property and tower portfolios.

Customer and Market segmentation
Our services are used by mobile network operators, wireless ISPs, broadband providers, the public sector and property management companies (retail, office, industrial, residential, student accommodation and data centres).

Products and Services
These include multi-tenant leases of masts and towers as well as property development and repurposing or refurbishing of existing Telkom buildings. Other real estate and tower management services include asset, project and property development. We also manage facilities to space-user requirements.

Differentiators
We manage a large, independent tower portfolio plus an in-house portfolio of over 1 300 properties, masts and towers. Furthermore, we have the capacity to become the preferred real estate solutions provider for non-mainstream, large-space, real estate portfolio owners. We leverage technologies within the Group to create and manage smart-enabled, next-generation buildings and facilities.

Openserve, a wholly owned subsidiary, is the leading wholesale infrastructure connectivity provider and largest open-access network in southern Africa.

Customer and Market segmentation
Our open access model enables broadband, enterprise, optical and carrier solutions for wholesale clients. The Consumer Division addresses the broadband needs of end customers through internet service providers, while the Enterprise Division supports business to business (B2B) connectivity through high bandwidth products such as metro-ethernet. The Optical Carrier Division offers client-specific, high-capacity backhaul and managed connectivity services to enhance the quality and reliability of the submarine and cable satellite connectivity of the Global Network infrastructure.

Products and Services
Broadband Solutions include next-generation fibre access and the optimal use of copper networks to enable high-speed internet connectivity. Our Enterprise Solutions arm focusses on B2B connectivity underpinned by ethernet products, while the Global Solutions offers the interconnect-based services that allow us to connect to the rest of the world.

Differentiators
Our comprehensive internet protocol-based offerings span core, aggregation and access models, which means that our next-generation network (NGN) is a unique wholesale market differentiator. The wholesale open access infrastructure has resulted in Telkom becoming the largest local open access, high-speed, fixed broadband connectivity provider. Our extensive experience in network design and deployment offers the deepest network connectivity services and communication capabilities - plus capacity to grow the network infrastructure across all market segments.

Swiftnet is a wholly owned subsidiary that manages the masts and towers portfolio as well as the construction of new power and supplementary facilities. With over 6 250 masts and towers, Swiftnet has the largest independent masts and tower portfolio operating on an open access basis.

Customer and Market segmentation
Bespoke structures offer in-building coverage solutions for the entire telecommunications industry, including mobile network operators (MNOs), internet service providers, utilities, broadcast and automotive tracking companies.

Products and Services
The ever-evolving demands of MNOs requires Swiftnet to implement innovative improvements. The demands for In-Building and Small Cell solutions as well as the deployment of 5G, further calls for continual upgrades of services offered. Swiftnet has also proven its technical capability to offer Power-as-a-Service solutions.

Differentiators
The agility of Swiftnet, coupled with the emergence of Small Cells, new licensed operators and the deployment of 5G, has created robust new income streams.
